Hi guys! I’m up on the Pinkfresh blog today with a pretty pink and black card, a favorite color combo of mine. I used the lovely arcing design of Pinkfresh’s new Arch Florals to help me arrange that pretty, script sentiment found on the Happy for You stamp set.
I found a photo on Pinterest (here is a link to that photo) that inspired me to make a panel using black & pink colored paper, I love Hero Arts for black cardstock. I have so many shades of pink cardstock you’d never guess it’s a favorite. But in the end, I decided to use Pinkfresh’s Sparkling Rose ink on white cardstock for that just-right shade of pink that I was looking for. Both panels were cut to 3 1/4 X 4 1/2 inches, then I sliced off a section of the pink panel and used glue to adhere it down to the black. I rounded the corners with a Crop-A-Dile corner chomper tool. Then set that panel aside.
Time to color! I pulled out the new Arch Florals and stamped that arcing floral bouquet in a light color, leaving the stamp in the platform. Then I used the Arch Florals 4-stencil set to color it in with Pinkfresh Studios’ Ballet Slipper, Sparkling Rose, Bubble Gum, and Raspberry Bliss for the blooms and Mint for the leaves. Then I put the flowers back in the stamping platform to stamp Detail Black over the finished image and used the Arch Florals die to cut them out.
I loved using the “You are Strong” sentiment on a shiny, pink, flowery card.
While arranging the flowers and sentiment, I decided to snip off a few leaves and blooms to arrange them around the sentiment. Everything was adhered to the topping panel with foam tape for dimension. Then I started looking for a hot foil plate to use to dry emboss the cardbase, but when I saw the Diagonal Stripes hot foil plate I changed direction and decided to use it with a pastel pink foil for stripes that move perpendicular to the line on the pink and black panel. I hot foiled on an 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 inch piece of paper and offset it so that I could cut it out with a border of white on two sides. I think it made the card so much more interesting! I used fun foam to pop up the top panel from the cardbase.
I added Ombre Glitter Drops: Glittering Mountains, there are some in the package that are black and gold, and I thought they worked perfectly. Then I was done!
I hope some of these design choices have inspired you to make something new. Thank you so much for coming by today!
