I Believe in You

Hi guys, welcome back! I’m up on Pinkfresh’s blog today with a couple of slimline cards using the oh so pretty English Garden stamp and die. I love those delicate looking leaves and vines growing away from a circlet! I took some inspiration from the new English Garden washi and used the classic pink and green combo for my slimline cards.

I started with the You Are Amazing stencil set and made two panels, one with Pinkfresh’s Fairy Dust collection of pink inks, Ballet SlipperSparkling Rose and Bubble Gum, the other with their Over the Hills collection, Fresh PearGrassy Knoll and Key Lime. When I was done with the stenciling I splattered some pink, white and silver on the pink card and green, white and gold on the green card. I love the diffused look splatter creates. Then I put them aside to dry.

For the wreath’s themselves I stamped the whole stamp, the wreath and blooms are all one stamp, with Bubble Gum and Olive, onto some white card stock and die cut them out with the partnering die. I used gold glitter embossing powder on the inside of the circlet for the green card and silver for the pink. I just love those color combinations! So pretty!

By then the splatter was dry so I die cut out the top panel pieces from the stenciled images using the second largest die from Pinkfresh’s 4-piece Slim Diagonal Stitched Rectangles.  I also die cut the circle openings using the Diagonal Stitched Circles die set. I also used the circle dies to cut out a couple of white framing circles to help define the wreath from the rest of the stenciled foliage. I stretched the stenciled panels to the ends of the card instead of centering them but not before adhering the framing circle down and cutting off the excess.

I used two of Pinkfresh Studio’s new stamp sets for those encouraging sentiments, Joyful Bouquet and English Garden. They were stamped straight down onto the base piece which measures 3 3/4 X 8 3/4 inches. The die cut wreaths were glued down onto the base right were the opening of the stenciled pieces would be. The top panels were adhered down with two layers of foam tape and the blooms and butterflies were also popped up with foam tape.

Then it was time for some sparkle! I used clear confetti and silver pearls on the pink card and gold confetti and dark green jewels from Pinkfresh’s Jewels Mix on the green card.

I hope some of my design choices have inspired you to make something new today.

Thanks so much for coming by!
