Wishing You a Peaceful Christmas and New Year!

Welcome my crafty friends! Today I’ve got a pretty little pink and gray card to wish you all a peaceful Christmas and new year. I used a couple of Pinkfresh’s new versatile stencil sets, Argyle and Overlapping Leafy Wreath. I loved the idea of using pinks and grays for this one so I pulled out some of those gorgeous Pinkfresh inks: Misty CoastBallet SlipperRocky Slope and Bubble Gum for some brighter pink accents.

The Overlapping Leafy Wreath stencil set includes 4 stencils, I used the lightest shades (Ballet Slipper and Misty Coast) for the first two layers and the slightly darker shades for the second two on white cardstock. Before I die cut it out with the accompanying die I used a little of Ranger’s Stickles glitter gel called Moon Dust (my new favorite!) on top of the Bubble Gum pink, which was the last/top stenciled layer. I think that glitter on top of that pretty pink color really pops when you’ve got the card in your hand. Then I decided that I would need to glue a circle of vellum underneath the wreath to make it easier to see the sentiment that would go on top.

I set the wreath aside and used the first of 2 stencils in the Argyle set to alternate a light pink and gray pattern, then the second stencil with Nuvo glacier paste in Iron Frost for a bolder criss crossing line over the whole panel. This paste has an almost foiled looking shine when it is dry.

I used a blender brush with more Pinkfresh inks to softly ombre some color on to some scrap cardstock then die cut out the “peace” sentiment with Lea’s Ornate Lowercase die set. I die cut out several layers of the letters in white to give them some stability and dimension.

That sweet pink bow topping the wreath was made with the Artistic Bows die set (I think I’m getting better at making those!) and a combination of pink and specialty glitter cardstock. When it was all adhered together I realized that I needed some black in the wreath for contrast and used some Nuvo drops here and there.

I hope that some of these design choices have inspired you to make something new today. Thanks so much for coming by!
