Hi all! Welcome back! Today I’m happy to share my contribution to the Pinkfresh Studio December 2022 Stamp, Die, Stencil, and Hot Foil Release (blog hop)! I spent some time playing with their new so, so pretty Detailed Leaf stamp, stencil, and die. There is also a Detailed Leaf hot foil plate, but I ended up not using it today. Let’s go!
The color palette that I wanted to work with was inspired by images I found online of the Pink Princess Philodendron plant, I just adore green and pink together. And I thought a delicate black and white foiled image behind it would be so elegant.
I stamped the image of the Detailed Leaf with a light gray color just to, more easily, line up the 4-stencil set. While it almost never matters what order I use the stencils in, for this one, I needed to use them in this order: 3, 4, 2, 1. I used Pinkfresh Studio’s Fairy Dust collection of ink cubes (pinks) and Over the Hills (greens). Then I pulled out a few colored pencils to darken the edges of the leaves, just a little, to give them a slightly more rounded look. Then I put my colored image back into the MISTI and stamped with Black Detail ink over the top to add that pretty detail. I set it aside for just a minute or two before die-cutting the leaf out.
For the cardbase I used a panel I had in my stash from Pinkfresh’s previous release, I hot foiled Modern Design Blocks with black foil on white cardstock (Neenah Solar White, 110 lb.) I love those delicate, black curvy lines as a backdrop for my pink Detailed Leaf. I used the new Nested Rectangles to die cut out a rectangle, inked up the edges with Ballet Slipper, and popped it up over another die cut, Stitched Scalloped Rectangles die set, for a sweet scalloped edging.
I added a black string bow before using foam tape to glue down the leaf. Then I used one of the sentiments from the Detailed Leaf stamp set, there are two die’s in the coordinating die set for the sentiments. I added some translucent ballet slipper jewels to finish it all off. Then I was done!
