Hi everyone! I’m up on the Pinkfresh Studio blog today with a striking card that was made with a fun previously released stamp set as well as the new Brighter Days hot foil plate, layering stencil set and accompanying die. I also used Pinkfresh’s Solid Hot Foil plate to make a sentiment that I thought was just right against that bold background.
I started by using the Brighter Days hot foil plate and silver foil on a few different sheets of paper: pink, peach and white. In the end I think the Pinkfresh ink colors looked brightest on the white cardstock but I used blooms from each. After they were foiled I pulled out the layering stencil set and used red and orange inks from the Heartbeat and Indian Summer collections. After they were colored in I die cut them out with the accompanying die and set them aside.
I pulled out the Pop Out: Straight Stripes Cling stamp set. This is a red rubber stamp set and stamps a wonderfully crisp image. Each stripe will separate from the rest making it easy to ink each stripe a different color, or custom arrange the stripes how you like, but I used the stamp as is with Detail Black on white cardstock for a striking background panel. I cut it out leaving a thin white border around the edge and adhered it to a black cardstock base for another thin border in black this time.
I arranged the flowers in a row down the center of the card and used foam tape to separate them from each other and pop them up off of the background. And I used the new Curvy Foliage die to tuck curly sprigs of green and black around the blooms.
For the sentiment I used the Perfect Sentiments hot foil plate with black foil on white cardstock, and while my Glimmer machine was still hot I heated up the Solid Hot Foil plate (twice) to use the sheet of foil I had just used on more white cardstock so that the letters would be white surrounded by that black foil. I also put in a piece of cardstock between the spacer pad and thin shim that come with the Glimmer machine system when it came to run it through my Silhouette. There is a Perfect Sentiments stamp set that can be used to stamp and white heat emboss with, achieving a similar affect if you’re not a fan of foiling.
I scattered some silver metallic pearls around the arrangement of blooms and was done!
I hope some of these design choices have inspired you to make something new today. Thank you so much for stopping by!
-Anne
Love the soft colors.
Thanks for coming by!
So beautiful, B.M.J. Every time I see black and white stripes, I am reminded of Elvis Presley’s “Jailhouse Rock” video. He was gorgeous! So is your card. ? You’re awesome, B.M.J.
Hey Mari! I’m pretty sure that my Mom thought that Elvis was the bees-knees! She was in the fan club and everything. Thank you most sincerely for coming by!! -B.M.J.
