Hello my crafty friends! Welcome to your next stop on Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Stamp, Die, Stencil, and Hot Foil Release blog hop! Woot! I love having this little bit of Christmas at this time of year, I’ve had enough of the summer heat. Anyway let’s get to the cardmaking! My two projects today feature the Under the Christmas Tree stamp, stencil and die sets and the Abstract Triangles hot foil plate.
With this first card I started with white cardstock, I like Neenah 110 lb. I used Pinkfresh inks: Sky Blue, Summer Shower, Seaside and Storm in combination with Misty Coast, Rocky Slope and Metropolis to gray the blue inks. I thought it calmed down the bright colors and made it look more peaceful and wintery. There are 6 stencils in the Under the Christmas Tree stencil set, so I had fun spending some time ink blending all the different parts of the image. I think this set would look gorgeous in a warm-glowy pink theme, I would love to see that.
When I was done with my main image, including the ornaments on the tree (Passion Fruit, Berrylicious, Candy Apple and a little Regal Kiss with a teeny tiny blending brush), I put it into my MISTI stamping platform and lightly stamped with Detail Black over the stenciled image. I die cut cut it all out and set it aside to work on my background/base piece.
I blended more Pinkfresh inks onto white cardstock, making sure to keep it lighter towards the center where the tree was going to be, and darker towards the edges of the card. Again using the Morning Sky color family of blues and the gray shades combined to give it a wintery feel. When I was done blending I used white acrylic paint, picked it up at Walmart, combined with a small amount of water to splatter some snow onto the background piece. Sometimes I like to splatter with water too, I think it gives the scene a more dimensional appearance, when those water spots dry they look like snow in the distance.
While that was drying, I decided that I wanted to use the Folk Edge Circles die set to put a charming halo effect behind the tree. I started putting everything together using foam tape where necessary. The fun Falalalala sentiment came from the Under the Christmas tree stamp and coordinating die set. I added some bright red crystals and the little white flowers were a last minute decision. Then I was done with my first Christmas card of the year!
Is it too early for New Years cards? When I saw Pinkfresh’s new Abstract Triangles hot foil plate it looked like a jazzy, celebratory design to me. I hot foiled with gold onto white cardstock and colored in the center pieces of the design. I used every alcohol ink marker I had that could be considered in the pink family, about 10 different shades. Then I decided to mask off the border and splatter with some of Hero Arts gold glimmer metallic ink.
A few of Pinkfresh’s gold pearls went down and I was done with this boldly colored New Years card!
I hope that some of these designs have inspired you to make something new today! Thanks so much for coming by!

Dear Anne,
Such a treat to see all these beautiful works in this hop! Yours are fabulous entries as well. I love that you did a New Year’s card — that Abstract Triangle Foiling Plate is amazing. I will have to get the Foil Press soon. I hope someone puts it on sale before Xmas. I love the color scheme that you used for that card. The Xmas card is lovely as well. I am loving the use of blues by Pinkfresh artists in this hop — it’s new and fresh to get away from total red + green and strike out in a new direction to red + deep blue. I love that Folk Circle die you used in the background. Your work is always exceptional and a delight to see!
