Hello! And welcome to your next stop on Pinkfresh’s July Stamp, Die, Stencil and Hot Foil Release blog hop! I’ll have links back to the Pinkfresh blog as well as the next person in the hop line-up at the end of my article. There are of course some giveaways too!
I’ve got a couple of projects to share with you today using 3 new Pinkfresh designs. So let’s get started!
For the first card I started playing with the gorgeous new Slimline Diamond Builder stencil set. I love a good background stencil to keep the card interesting if you plan on having a focal point that doesn’t fill the card. It can be a big part of the design or just a subtle touch in the background. I’ve figured out that I don’t do well with a lot of white space. I keep trying now and again, we’ll see how it goes.
I used Pinkfresh greens and only 3 of the 4 stencils that come in the set to ombre some color onto my slimline card base. Evergreen, Emerald City, Meadow and Mint. I was able to leave the center of the card blank and that’s where I placed my, tilted, Essentials Stitched Scallop Square die cut.
I had hot foiled the new Sweet Friend Floral design with Spellbinders glimmer green foil and used the accompanying stencil set to give those fun whimsical flowers a little bit of color. I die cut them out, with the new Sweet Friend Floral die, and arranged them around the tilted square. The sentiment is from the new Just a Hello Floral stamp and die sets (Also gorgeous!! I’ll post photo’s of a card I made with just this set on the Instagram Hop on Tuesday!)
I decided to add a framing Slim Stitched Scallop Rectangle, then some bling and was done.
Next up is a card I made with Pinkfresh’s new cling stamp: Happy Blooms Frame. I stamped onto some of Simon’s Sea Glass cardstock, using Ocean Breeze because I thought I might make this a no-line colored image.
I used my color pencils to get some bright colors down onto this colored cardstock, which can be hard to do with inks. Then ended up heat embossing some sparkly gold embossing powder over it when I was done coloring. I die cut it out using the accompanying die on the inside and Pinkfresh’s Diagonal Stitched Rectangles on the outside of the colored floral frame. I used foam tape to adhere the frame onto the base piece, again Simon’s Sea Glass cardstock.
I had already stamped the sentiment in the middle of the card base, using Storm, but before I added bling, I decided that I wanted something subtle to fill up the space as well as transition from the frame to the sentiment in the middle, and die cut out a handful of tiny branches from Pinkfresh’s Garden Wreath die set, (Which I use SO much and feel no shame about), from colored vellum.
When the vellum branches were all glued down I added some of those beautifully deeply shaded Stargazer Jewels. I just love that color. And I was done.
I hope you feel inspired to make something new today. Thank you so much for coming by!
-Anne

Two fantastic cards. Love the way you used a diamond for your focal point and faded out the stenciled diamond background around it. The second card is my favorite. I love your use of vellum leaves around the inside of the frame. It’s such a soft look and creates a nice background without taking away from the sentiment. Thanks for the great inspiration!
