Pinkfresh Studio “Artsy Floral” Release

Hi everyone! Welcome to Pinkfresh Studio’s Artsy Floral release blog hop! This gorgeous release is full of stamps, stencils, dies, and beautifully watercolored washi tapes for quick card-making or scrapbooking! I used the Fluttering Butterflies washi with PFS’s circle dies for a fast, fun “Wishing you the happiest day” card!

I started with the washi tape and applied it to cardstock. I die-cut everything out (then I lost a little time tilting the butterflies this way and that way, appreciating the gold detailing 😊), pushed everything aside, and pulled out Pinkfresh’s Nested Circles and Rosettes die set to cut out a bunch of vellum circles in various sizes.

In my experience, ink takes a little longer to dry on vellum, so I had to give it just a few minutes before handling them again.

I picked out a few butterflies to feature on my card; nine different butterflies are in the design. I used a brush to color the vellum circles to match or complement the butterfly colors. Once I decided on a layout, I put a dab of glue on the part of the circle that was likely to be under the die-cut butterfly and smoothed it out a bit before adhering it to my card panel. I didn’t worry a bit about all of the vellum circles remaining flat on the card; I rather like that a bit of the circle might curl up a bit. It just adds interest.

Before I stuck any of the circles down, I selected a sentiment from the Artsy Floral stamp set and stamped it using Detail Black ink.

I got all of the vellum circles down before deciding I wanted something a little “extra” on the card. I cut a crescent moon shape with two different-sized circle dies out of gold specialty paper. I also used Pinkfresh’s previously released Wildflower Bouquet die set for a couple of stems to apply around the die-cut.

Once the circles were all down, it was time to add the butterflies. I used two layers of foam tape to apply them where I wanted them. Then, I put a couple of extra circles down to fill out the space where I liked it. I added some Clear Drops: Iridescent, and I was done! I love how the vellum circles look like they are floating around with the butterflies! 😁

I hope that some of these design choices have inspired you to make something new today! Thanks so much for stopping by!
