Hello and welcome to your next stop on the Pinkfresh Studio January 2023 Stamp, Die, Stencil, and Hot Foil Release blog hop! What a pretty release this is! I made three cards overall, and I’ll share my how-to’s for a couple of them today. I’ll try to stay succinct but as usual, I answer all comments left below, if I miss something in my post and you have a question, please ask. Let’s go.

For my first card, I used the beautiful new Magnolia Pattern, red rubber, stamp, and stencil set. I put the 6X6 square stamp in the MISTI and stamped with gray ink on white cardstock, leaving the stamp where it is so I can stamp over my finished design. Then I used the accompanying 6-stencil set to color everything in. Four of the seven stencils cover the blooms, so I picked out four colors to use, one for each stencil, and coordinating darker shades for the petal tips.
For the blooms: Ballet Slipper and Sparkling Rose, Apricot and Clementine, Passion Fruit and Berrylicious, and Lemon Whip and Sweet Mustard.
The stencil set does not cover every single flower that is stamped out, it leaves some of them in the background, which I adore so much! How pretty is that?! If you wanted to color every bloom, you certainly could, just use the stamped image and pull out those colored pencils, paints, or markers and spend some time coloring.

I decided not to stamp over the image and instead used some Stickles glitter gel in Starshine yellow with one of the stencils so that some of the petals glittered. I cut the final image down to 5 1/8 square and popped it up on a 5 1/2 in. light gray, (Papertrey Inks’ Soft Stone) square cardbase. I placed it in the upper right corner because I’ve been liking that off-center look lately.
That darling sentiment is from the new Wonderful Sentiments stamp set, used with the accompanying die set. There is also a hot foiling option available for these sentiments. And since there was plenty of sparkle already, I managed to not add additional bling to this card.
For card number two, I used Pinkfresh’s previously released Dainty Plaid stamp and stencil set on white card stock. I heat embossed the stamped lines with white embossing powder and colored using a couple of the stencils with Lemon Whip and Fresh Pear. I cut it down a bit and set it aside.

I pulled out the new, so gorgeous, Wonderful in Every Way hot foil plate and used it with Glimmer’s Citrine hot foil on more white cardstock. I used the accompanying 5-stencil set and about 3 different sizes of blending brushes to color in my yellow poppy. I used all of the colors in Pinkfresh’s Rise and Shine collection for the bloom then pulled out a light brown pencil to darken some of the areas where the petal curls over or is on top of another petal. I also used a white pencil to add more highlights, (and another yellow pencil on top of that, in places, to layer the colors which, I think, makes the bloom look more interesting). I used Grassy Knoll and Key Lime for the leaves. With a small brush I just swooshed down the middle of the leaf with a light green, to leave room for some Lemon Whip and Sunshine to be applied to the outside of them.
Yes, you can use pencils with a foiled image. My advice is to try to avoid drawing over the foiled lines, they’ll likely dull a bit.

When I was done coloring, I die-cut it out and popped it up on top of the Dainty Plaid panel, which had been adhered to a white A2-sized cardbase. I used a sentiment, from the Wonderful in Every Way stamp and die sets. To finish it off, I arranged some die-cut sprigs of Curvy Foliage here and there and added a few jewels in Sunshine yellow and Emerald City green.
I hope some of these design choices have inspired you to make something new today. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Both of your cards are beautiful. I love how you put the Magnolia background off center up in the corner. I’m going to have to try that. Loving the citrine foil on your second card really ties in all of the colors you used.
