Hi everyone! Welcome to your next stop on the Pinkfresh Studio August 2023 Holiday Stamp, Die, Stencil, and Hot Foil Release blog hop! It’s chock full of pretty Christmas designs, and I wanted to make cards with everything when I saw it all. But there’s only so much time in the day, so I started with the gorgeous Floral Bauble!
I started with a panel of heavy-weight white cardstock and stamped the Floral Bauble onto it using a light ink color. Then I pulled out the five stencil set to color in the flowers with Ballet Slipper, Coral Reef, and Passion Fruit. The berries were Passion Fruit, Berrylicious, and Candy Apple. The leaves were colored in with Slumber, Blue Jay, and Sapphire, which I then went over lightly with Rocky Slope to mute the brilliance of those blues a little bit.
For the bow, I used Ballet Slipper and Coral Reef. I returned my stenciled-in image to the stamping platform and used Detail Black to stamp over it again. Then I die-cut it and set it aside to work on the backing panel.
Again, I started with an A2-sized panel of heavy-weight white cardstock and used a large blending brush with Slumber to ink up the panel, leaving the center of the space white. Then I used Storm closer to the edges. (And maybe a little bit of Sapphire in the corners) I cut the panel down a bit and put it into the MISTI. I used a stamp from another new release, Festive Tickets, and stamped a leaf decal on four sides of the panel. Then I used a thin Sharpie to draw lines from one decal to the next. I didn’t want the lines to look too precise; I like the look of those hand-drawn lines.
I popped that panel up on a white cardbase and used foam tape to adhere the Floral Bauble w/bow onto the topping panel. I used a sentiment from the Floral Bauble stamp and die sets. I knew immediately that I wanted to use Pinkfresh’s Glitter Drops in Ruby to bring some sparkle to my card, and I was done!
I’ve got another card with the Floral Bauble stamp, stencil, and die. I used pinks and oranges with the stencil set for the flowers and leaves. I heat-embossed it with silver for the detail. I used Ocean Breeze and Aquamarine, and Rangers texture paste (Opaque Matte) with a previously released stencil for the backing panel, Argyl. I splattered with white acrylic paint before I cut it down and adhered it to my cardbase.
I included a couple of snowflakes from Pinkfresh’s new Large Snowflakes die set, along with some small white flowers (Garden Wreath die set). The sentiment is courtesy of another new release, Basic Banners: Christmas. I thought this design was starting to look “luxe,” so I added a small handful of Glacier Jewels.
I hope some of these design choices have inspired you to make something new today. Thanks so much for stopping by!
-Anne
