Hi guys! I’m up on the blog with a fun and easy card today! I used Pinkfresh Studio’s new Overlapping Triangles stencil set for a card full of movement and a wonderfully celebratory look.

I started with a 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 sized panel of white cardstock. I prefer to start with this large-sized panel; I like to secure the stencil to the paper and spin it around as necessary to apply color. You absolutely can start with an A2-sized panel. 

With stencils one and two, it was Soft Lilac followed by Passion Fruit. For stencil three, I used Marigold for a couple of triangles and Warm Buff topped by Apricot for the other triangles. I used Candy Violet, Emerald City, and Bubble Gum topped with Passion Fruit for stencil four. This is a great project to experiment with color combinations. Have fun!

Then I pulled out Pinkfresh’s Nested Circles Die and the circle die from the Rosettes die set to cut circles from a sheet of transparent vellum. Using the ink pads still on my table, I applied ink to a section of the vellum before I die-cut the circles. (Give it a moment to dry if you don’t want inky fingers). I used vellum instead of cardstock so they could be overlapped like the triangles.

To apply the vellum circles to the card, I added a dot or two of glue (these are very lightweight, you don’t need a lot!) to the edge of the circle, dabbed at it with my finger to smear it around a bit, then pressed it onto the card. It rarely showed as the sticking point. It’s also a good idea to apply the glue on the side of the vellum that was not inked up because the water in the glue will move that color around. You can always use bling over the spot if you want.

The sentiment, made with the Wonderful Sentiments hot foil plate, black foil, and the Wonderful Sentiments die set, is fitting for many occasions. There is also a stamp set available if you prefer. I rounded the corners of my card; it’s just something I’m into right now. I think it looks modern. Then I sprinkled some shine and glimmer over my card, using Glacier Jewels. And I was done!
