Hi guys! Welcome to your next stop on the Pinkfresh Studio July 2023 Stamp, Die, and Stencil Release blog hop! I’ve got a fun summery card to share, made with Pinkfresh’s new Thanks for Being There stamp, stencil, and die. Not only does this stamp set have a lovely floral image (I can think of so many fun ways to color that in!), but it also has beautiful script-y sentiments, with three coordinating sentiment dies included in the die set.
I started with my blue and white checkered panel first. I white heat embossed with the previously released Dainty Plaid stamp for the crisis crossing lines then used the Dainty Plaid stencil and Summer Shower for my topping panel. I rounded the corners with a Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper and set it aside.
For that pretty flower cluster, I stamped the image on some white heavyweight cardstock using a light gray ink. Then I used the Thanks for Being There stencil set to color everything in. I used Metropolis ink in the center for the big bloom, then went over some circles with a black Sharpie. I used Sweet Mustard on the petals in the middle of the bloom, and then I used Coral Reef at the ends of the petals blending it towards the center with a light hand, then with a more concentrated application at the scalloped tips of the petals. For the smaller bloom, I tried to keep the yellow and green inks, Lemon Whip and Grassy Knoll, light in the center, then I applied Ballet Slipper on the petals, again keeping it very light the closer my brush got to the center, where it would meet up with the yellow/green. Then I added a bit of Sparkling Rose at the very tips. I used a colored pencil to add just a little additional detail, some shadowing for the petals. When I was done coloring everything in, I stamped over it again with Detail Black, then die-cut it out and set it aside.
I used the Folk Edge Circles die set with white and silver cardstock. I layered them together using fun foam because I like the drop shadows that adding dimension brings to a project. They were centered on the blue and white plaid panel. I used foam tape to adhere the flower cluster to the circle. And the sentiment was popped up with foam tape too. I used another new release to add some interest behind the sentiment and flowers, the Fall Leaf die.
I added some matte silver pearls and was done. I hope some of these design choices have inspired you to make something new today. Thanks so much for coming by!
