Hi guys! Welcome to the Waffle Flower July Release Blog Hop! I’m happy to be hopping with the folks from Waffle Flower to show you all the fun new stuff awaiting you on the Waffle Flower website! Be sure to check out each stop in today’s blog hop for fun, inspiration, and chances to win some of these new release goodies! The full hop order will be at the end of this post.
I have a couple of cards today. For this first card I used the new Ornaments Background Foil Plate and the Ornaments Coloring Stencil. The new Merry Christmas Duo stamp and die made for a perfect sentiment to top my card! When using the stencil I masked off the ornaments that I knew I didn’t want to color and ended up using 3 different ink shades in each color family per ornament, to get some interesting shading. I trimmed the finished panel down a bit and popped it up on a white A2 cardbase. Then I heat embossed with silver for the Merry Christmas sentiment.
For my second card, I used the beautiful new Layered Ornament Die. I used the new Pine Branch Panel Die for a sprig of pine to place behind the bow. And my sentiment is, again, from the Merry Christmas Duo stamp set.
For this second card, I grabbed a square of watercolor paper and splashed some clear water onto it. Then I picked out a pink and a peach color from my water re-active Pinkfresh inks, smooshed them onto a flat palette, added water, and brushed them onto the panel. I also added some Hero Arts Gold Metallic ink over some of the peach tones. Then I layered up the SO VERY sweet ornament die cuts (I can think of so many ways to use this!), cut from Ivory cardstock to match the watercolor paper. I added the bow, cut from gold specialty paper and the sentiment is, again, from the Merry Christmas Duo stamp set. (I added the sentiment last!! – Yikes! – That was a tricky stamping process, I tell you.)

Dear Anne – I’m always so impressed by you. Your talent is remarkable. I love, love, love that first card. The depth of color you achieved using that stencil over the beautiful foiling is impressive. (I just got a Glimmer – so excited! – but it arrived right before the trip I’m taking now, so I will unbox and start using it when I get home.) I also think the second card is a stunner… very non-traditional but no less beautiful for its unconventionality. FABULOUS!

Lori, you are so generous (and good for me!), thank from the bottom of my heart. I’m a big fan of hot foiling, and am so glad that you’re trying it out. I ended up getting ALL of the foil colors, but started out with just silver and gold. That’s my recommendation at least. Have a safe trip Lori!
Gorgeous cards.
