Hello and welcome back! I’m up on Pinkfresh Studio’s blog today with a thank you card that I made with Pinkfresh’s new Joyful Peonies stamp and die. I love the movement that this drawn image of peonies and leaves has. Peonies are my absolute favorite flower, I get a kick from the look of that massive explosion of petals. Total flower bomb. Love!
I used Pinkfresh’s detail black ink to stamp onto gray paper and colored in the image with my color pencils. Then I die cut it out with the accompanying die. I used two layers of foam tape to adhere it to the Fancy Oval Frame die cut out from ivory card stock. I made sure to use some clear tape on the back of the frame to keep all of the little die cut pieces in.
The ivory frame was popped up with more foam tape on to a panel of gray paper (fog) and it was all glued down to an ivory card base. I thought it would look lovely with a pop of black contrast on it and used the Leafy Branch die, glued to the back of the frame for that. I like to use glue whenever possible to give me that extra time to wiggle stuff into place. I always hold my breath when I see video’s of crafters taping something straight down into place. That never works for me!
Pinkfresh’s Sentiment suite: Thank you die was used with a glittery silver specialty paper and “with all my heart” was pulled from Simply sentiments- Thank you stamp set and stamped onto pale lilac paper. I think this would make a lovely, heartfelt Mothers Day card.
A few green jewels were added here and there for some bling along with some black Nuvo crystal drops for the center of the flowers. I know technically peonies don’t have these black dots in the center, consider it artists license.
I hope that some of my design choices have inspired you to make something new today. Thank you so much for coming by!
