Hi guys! I’m up on Pinkfresh Studio’s blog today sharing a card that I made with some beautiful new Pinkfresh products, the Bougainvillea 4-stencil set and accompanying hot foil plate. This one was a sort of challenge to myself. I really wanted to pair this lovely floral print with cream colored paper and soft colors AND use the hot foil plates, but I don’t have any gold foil and I had it in my mind that a cream shade should only be used with gold. So I got to work with my silver foil to see if it could work and ended up really liking the results.
I hot foiled the Bougainvillea image onto some cream cardstock and pulled out the stencil set and some soft Pinkfresh colors. For the blooms it was alternating Ballet Slipper and Peach Fuzz then Coral Reef was applied to just the tips of all of the flowers.
For the “greenery” I used Ocean Breeze and Misty Coast, because I thought the soft gray color might help the silver foil accent integrate into the image better… do I overthink this? Maybe. It’s my process.
I silver foiled the new Celebrate sentiment onto some vellum and tore the edges to keep it in line with the soft look I was going for. I used an extra die cut vellum flower left over from the previous release (it’s from the Painted Peony Mix stamp set) and some foam tape to pop it up over the sentiment. I placed a few silver pearls around the sentiment to finish it off.
So in the end, I think the silver worked out pretty well. I got to use some new products and adjust an old way of thinking.
I hope that this inspires you to make something new today. Thanks so much for coming by!
