Beautiful Summer Day!

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing a card that was inspired by the monthly challenge on Pinkfresh Studio’s blog, this month the theme is Summer!

Let’s get right to it, I first stamped out a selection of blooms from the Floral Elements stamp set using Detail Black. Then I smooshed out a few of Pinkfresh’s inks, Summer ShowerClementine and Ballet Slipper, onto the lid of my stamping platform, added a little water and used a small paint brush to color in the flowers. I love the combo of oranges and blues together, so pretty! Then I die cut them out with the coordinating dies and set them aside.

I couldn’t resist using the new Pop out: Diagonal stripes red rubber stamp, I love the versatility you can get from it! I used the colors Ocean Breeze and Sky Blue for the background, making sure to concentrate the ink around where I thought I might arrange the flowers but I didn’t worry about being too clean or precise with the stamping, I wanted some extra, random strips of blue to show up. After I die cut it out with a stitched rectangle die I ended up using some glittery gel on the blue stripes, (applied with a q-tip and a ruler), I thought it made them look a bit like sunlight on water.

I used Clementine again with a blending brush to slightly ink up the base piece to provide a pretty contrast for the blue. I splattered some white on to it to further diffuse the color then started adhering everything together. I used the You’ve Got This stamp set, (I love the flowy script!) for the sentiment, stamped it onto vellum and just wrapped the ends around the top panel. Oh, then of course I had to add a few of the Essential’s: Jewels Mix because too much sparkle is never enough. Done!

Thanks so much for coming by, and I hope that you’re inspired to make something new today!
