Hi everyone! I’m up on the Pinkfresh Studio blog today with a sweet Folk Floral Stem in peachy tones, backed by an Argyle pattern in a complimentary shade of blue, Slumber, for a super pretty background. I also used a couple of stitched heart die-cuts and lots of sparkle, along with the sentiment “Enjoy your special day” for a card that can be used for many occasions.

I started with 110 lb. white cardstock, and stamped the Folk Floral Stem image with gray ink, making sure to leave the stamp in the stamping platform. I used the four stencils in the Folk Floral Stem stencil set to color in the image, using Ballet Slipper, Coral Reef, and Apricot for the blooms and Fresh Pear and Grassy Knoll for the leaves. I love this floral image, I think how the line of the stem curls and flicks across the card is so fun. There is also a Folk Floral Stem hot foil plate available.

When I was done, I decided to use a couple of colored pencils just on the tips of the flower petals and at the base of the leaves to provide a little more color saturation and interest. I could have used more ink and the stencils again but for some reason, I just wanted to use my pencils. Then I put the floral stem back into the stamping platform and stamped over the image with Pinkfresh’s Detail Black. I gave it a minute to dry then used the Folk Floral Stem die to cut it out and then set it aside. I also die-cut out an additional floral stem to glue to the back of my colored image, to make it a bit stronger.

I grabbed another sheet of white cardstock and taped the first of the two stencils in the Argyle stencil set down. The Argyle design is a favorite of mine, I’ve used it a lot and just adore it!

I used Slumber for the diamond shapes, shading some diamond spaces very lightly and others with a heavier hand. Then I used the second stencil in the set along with a finger dauber to apply some versamark ink (sticky ink) to heat emboss white crisscrossing lines. I used the first stencil again to smooth on some clear glitter gel in random spaces and set it aside to dry.

When my Argyle design was fully dry, (I gave it a day) I trimmed it down a bit and used fun foam to apply it to a blue cardbase. That sweet, stitched Shaker Heart die cut went straight on top of that, then I applied the Folk Floral Stem with foam tape and I put the little heart, with a sentiment from the Heart Smiles stamp set, with two layers of foam tape down last.

At the last minute, I decided to scatter some translucent Glacier Jewels, even though the glitter gel provides plenty of shine.
