Hi crafty friends and welcome to your next stop on the Pinkfresh Studio November Stamp, Die, Stencil, and Hot Foil New Release hop! My card today was made with the new Darling Dahlias stamp and stencil set. This stencil set has a masking layer (that covers up the flowers and leaves) so that you can color in the background easily! Yay! I love that.
I put some Neenah 110 lb. card stock in my stamping platform with the red rubber Dahlia’s stamp and stamped out the image first, using Rocky Slope. I decided to make the flowers sort of bluey, which is an actual word, and used Sky Blue, Summer Shower, Seaside and Blue Jay, for the very center of the flowers, trying to keep the outside of the petals as pale as possible. The leaves are a light gray, Misty Coast and a little Rocky Slope at the base. I thought if I made the background color a darker gray it would really help those flowers look white. I tried to mottle the background a little, with darker shades of gray here and there because I thought it made it look more interesting. Then I splattered with some white acrylic paint just because I like the look of it.
I put the stenciled image back into the stamping platform, that still had the stamp in it, to heat emboss a smooth silver over the flowers. So pretty! I trimmed it down a smidge and adhered it to a light blue cardstock base. I decided that a white scallop frame would be so charming with those white-blue dahlias and used Pinkfresh’s Stitched Scallop Rectangles die set to do it.
I used another new release Scripted Greetings for the “Thanks” sentiment and found a white bow already made (and just a little squished) in my stash, to adhere on the frame next to the sentiment. That bow was made with the Artistic Bows die set. I added a few silver pearls and was done.
I hope some of these design ideas have inspired you to make something new today, thanks so much for coming by!
-Anne

Thank you Patricia!
Did you use watercolor for the background or an ink color?
Hi Robin, I used Pinkfresh inks: Rocky Slope and a little bit of Metropolis, just applied here and there for a sort of unfocused look. I used my blending brushes and one of the layers of the stencil set to apply them. Thank you for coming by!
These stamps, dies, foil plates and stencils are a stamping world changer. The stencils allow one to color in the stamped image in a matter of seconds. No longer have to sit and color each little design and make sure you stay in the lines. The foiling dies add the touch of bling that tops off the entire design. Love all of the designs. Hard to pick just one.
Oh, I agree! Pinkfresh Studio has really got their game on with these design suites! Thanks so much for coming by Rosie!
