Simon Says Stamp Heart to Heart Blog Hop!

Hi everyone! Welcome! I fell in love with the sentiments on the Heart Suite stamp set. So elegant. Then I was inspired by a picture I found on Pinterest and decided to dig through my Simon Says Stamp dies to select images to combine with a sentiment from the stamp set.

Here is a link to the entire release!

That part was so much fun! I selected some images, die-cut them, and started moving them around on an A2-sized card. Once I got an arrangement I liked, I took a pic with my phone in case I forgot it. Then I inked them up and set them aside. Simon has a tacky mat that works great for this. I sometimes leave the die-cut in the paper that I cut from and ink it up there.

For the backing panel, I started with 80lb smooth white cardstock, cut to 6 X 4 3/4 in. Which is slightly bigger than an A2-sized card (5 1/2 X 4 1/4 in.) When I’m brushing ink onto a panel of paper, I don’t love it when the bristles of the blending brush catch on the edges and overly darken them. Also, I can keep my fingers on the edges without leaving prints on my card.

I used Pinkfresh Studio’s rose inks and large blending brushes to add some color to the background: Peony and Cherry Blossom, along with Coral Reef and a little bit of Apricot to warm it up with some orange-y shades. Then I used the new Heart Suite stamp set and a bold ink color (PF’s Begonia) to stamp the sentiment. And there’s a fun print stamp in the set, so I used it in the bottom corner to go under the rectangle.

I cut the panel to size and used double-sided tape to adhere it to a cardbase. Then I put foam tape on most everything (not the flower stalk, bow, or feather). Arranged it all and stuck it down. I definitely also used glue, so I could slide it around a bit.

*New SSS products used: Toaster Pastry die set, Rounded Hearts nesting die set, and the Heart Suite stamp set

*Previously released SSS products: A7 frames, Bold Bird Branches embossing folder and die, Pretty Bows die set, Wintertime Celebration plate, Fancy Feathers dies, and the Mail Call die set.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I love to talk card-making, so please let me know if you have any questions.

-Anne
