Pinkfresh Studio “Sunshine & Smiles” Release Blog Hop!

Hi guys! Welcome to your next stop on the Pinkfresh Studio “Sunshine & Smiles” Release blog hop! I made a pretty, summery birthday card to share with you today. It’s chock-full of flowers, and I just spent the morning in my crafty space coloring with PFS stencils and inks. So fun! I used the new Garden Medley (cling rubber) stamp, stencil, and die sets, as well as two more new releases. Let’s get started!

  1. I started with a panel of heavyweight white cardstock. I put it into my MISTI, stamped the floral image using light ink, and left the stamp where it was.
  2. I decided I wanted a bunch of different colors for this garden medley: I used Summer Shower, Seaside, and Storm for my blues, Sunkissed, Mimosa, and Mango Sorbet for my oranges, Lemon Whip, Sunshine, and Sweet Mustard for my yellows, and Fairy Dust for my pinks. For the greenery, I used Grassy Knoll and Key Lime.
  3. After coloring, I put the panel back into my stamping platform and stamped over it using Detail Black.
  4. Then, I used the Garden Medley die to cut it out. I used the die again on a blank panel to glue the two together to make it more sturdy.
  5. For my background, I couldn’t decide whether I wanted it to be white or a soft yellow, so I ended up using both. I started with a slightly oversized A2 panel, colored the top half a light yellow, and then cut out my panel using Pinkfresh’s new Single Stitch Rectangle die set.
  6. I wrapped some string and ribbon around the middle and adhered it to my cardbase.
  7. I used two layers of foam tape on the die-cut panel of flowers before gluing it to my cardbase topper. I used Pinkfresh Studio’s new glue with the foam tape so that I could slide the floral panel into place. (The top of this bottle is clever; there is no more worrying about losing that metal pin, which ensures the glue doesn’t clog the tip… Or is that just me?)
  8. I stamped and die-cut my birthday sentiment using Pinkfresh Studio’s new Sunshine and Smiles stamp and die sets.
  9. I tucked a fluffy/gauzy ribbon tied in a messy, double bow underneath a corner of the popped-up sentiment.
  10. Then I sprinkled a few Clear Drops in Blush.

The super pretty Garden Medley stamp set fills an A2-sized card and is an excellent design for playing with colors, one of my favorite parts of card-making. You can go monochromatic using only shades of blue or make it Autumnal with shades of yellow, orange, and red/brown.

I hope you’ve been inspired to make something new today! Thank you so much for stopping by!
