Pinkfresh Studio “Good Times” Release Blog Hop!

Hi guys, welcome to the Pinkfresh Studio new release blog hop! I’ve got a bright summery card to share today, made with PFS’s new Plumeria stamp, stencil, and die sets. I used a stencil from the Kaleidoscope set for a wide stripe of dots down the center, then arranged my tropical flowers on either side. I also took this opportunity to use my yellow glitter gel on my flowers.

I colored the flowers first, so let’s start there.

  1. I started with smooth white cardstock and stamped the plumeria image using gray ink. I left the stamp where it was in the stamping platform.
  2. I used the Plumeria stencil set to color the image. For the leaves, I used all of the PFS’s blue-y Amalfi Coast colors and the yellow-green Fresh Pear, Grassy Knoll, and Key Lime. I kept the darker colors close to the base of the leaf, which helped lend a curved appearance.
  3. I used Lemon Whip, Sunshine, and Sweet Mustard for the blooms. I made sure to leave a portion of the petals white, with no ink, so that I could use Sparkling Rose or Turquoise on some of them.
  4. After I colored them in, I returned the image to the stamping platform and used Detail Black to highlight the detail more.
  5. After that was dry, I used Stickles Starshine glitter gel with one of the stencils to give the centers of these tropical flowers bold yellow centers. I let that dry, then I used the Plumeria die set to cut them out.
  6. While the stamp was still in the MISTI, I decided to silver heat emboss the flowers onto vellum just to see if I liked the effect. I ended up making two vellum bouquets.

Now, we’ll make the backing panel.

  1. Again, I started with an A2-sized panel of white cardstock and used a stencil from Pinkfresh’s previously released Kaleidoscope stencil set. I used Detail Black again and shifted the stencil four times to get that exact pattern.
  2. I taped the panel to an A2-sized cardbase, rounded the corners, and used small spots of glue to adhere both vellum bouquets to two corners of the card, and cut off any overhang.
  3. Then, with my colored image, I used repositionable tape to hold the bouquet in place where I wanted it and cut off the excess. I repeated the process on the opposite corner and used foam tape to adhere them to the card.
  4. I got the sentiment from the Plumeria stamp and die sets and used two layers of foam tape to pop it up in the center.
  5. I used PFS’s Sunshine yellow jewels to add a little more color to my card. And I was done!

I love the combination of black and white with bold tropical colors. I hope you’ve been inspired to make something new today. Thanks so much for stopping by!

-Anne
