Hi everyone! Welcome to my blog! I’m happy to participate in Simon Says Stamp’s second “To Be Loved” blog hop! Here is a link to the entire release and to Simon’s first “To Be Loved” blog hop, which took place yesterday, the 10th.
I used three new SSS products for today’s share: Exotic Blooms from the To Love release, the Groovy Love You More die set, and the Tucked Hearts stamp, both from the To Be Loved release. I made my card yellow because it’s such a bright and hopeful color. The end and beginning of the year can be a challenging time for many people, so this is a great time to send one of those just-because cards.

For these releases, check out Simon’s galleries, To Love and To Be Loved, for inspiration and to add your own.
I started by blending four shades of yellow inks onto an oversized (about 4 1/2 X 5 3/4 inches) panel of white cardstock. The darker shades at either end blend to white, or almost no ink, in the middle of the card panel. I usually like to start with a slightly larger panel; it gives me room to make mistakes. Also, I don’t love it when the edges build up color, so this way, I’ll just cut them off.
After using anti-static powder on my color-blended panel, I put it into my MISTI and used white embossing powder with the Tucked Hearts stamp. I love Simon’s Fine Detail White embossing powder. It works better for me than any other kind I’ve tried. Then I trimmed it to 3 3/4 X 5 inches, rounded the corners, and used fun foam to adhere it to my A2 cardbase.
I used the Groovy Love You More sentiment die (the set comes with a shadow die that I did not use for this card) three times on white cardstock. I colored two die cuts with my yellow inks, which were still on my table. After slightly offsetting them, I glued them together. I used foam tape to pop the sentiment over my yellow panel. After looking at it for a bit, I added a little Exotic Bloom, also in yellow, to my card.

I topped it all off with a directional sprinkle of yellow sequins. Simon has a packet of gorgeous, deep yellow sequins called “Yellow Sunsets Sequins.” And I was done with my card!
I hope that some of these design choices have inspired you to make something new today. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Oh, great! It’s a little woo-woo, but I don’t usually decide what to do analytically; I try to figure out how I feel on the day or about the product design and go with it. Thank you so much, Kristen!
