Elegant Framed Thank You

Hi everyone! I’m on the Pinkfresh Studio blog today with a thank you card made with their new Nested Squares: Diagonal Stitch die set. With their diagonal stitch detail, the nested dies make up much of the design work for today’s project. I added a few clusters of flowers with the sentiment prominent in the center for a special thank you card.

I started with a 5 X 5 in. panel of white 100 lb. cardstock, one of Pinkfresh’s new big blending brushes, and the Ballet Slippers ink pad. After I got a light pink panel, I used Cherry Blossom to ink blend a few random areas of darker pink on the square panel for a slightly more dreamy, dimensional look and cut it down to 4 1/2 X 4 1/2 in. Then, I used the largest die from the Nested Squares set and cut out a square from the middle of the four 1/2-inch square panels. I glued the outside piece to a cardstock base. Then I inked up another cardstock panel with just Ballet Slipper for the two interior squares.

Since I had decided on an elegant gold, pink, and pearl palette, I heat embossed WOW’s gold pearl embossing powder along the edges of a couple of the die-cut squares. To do this, I dumped a pile of embossing powder on a piece of copy paper, grabbed a square, held it on its side, and ran the edge along the top of a VersaMark pad (another sticky ink pad would work, too). After all four sides were sticky, I dipped them into the embossing powder and used a heat gun to emboss them. I then returned the excess powder to the container.

I used glue to inlay the large die-cut and gold embossed square back into the piece I cut from, which was already on a cardbase. Then, I used fun foam and tape to adhere to the smaller squares in the center. Then, it was time for flower arranging!

I used Pinkfresh’s Garden Party and Sweet Blossoms die sets for my flowers. Some were colored with Cherry Blossom and Coral Reef ink, and others were cut from specialty shimmer cardstock. I got my sentiment from one of my favorite sentiment sets: Here For You Sentiments. I also used Pinkfresh’s new bling, Dew Drops: Iridescent. These drops are delightful, with a very subtle shimmer.

And I was done with my card. I hope some of these design choices have inspired you to make something new today! Thanks so much for stopping by!
