Simon Says Stamp’s Beautiful Blooms

Hi guys! Simon Says Stamp has a new collection out today called Sunny Vibes! I spent some time with a new stamp set called Beautiful Blooms. These stylized blooms are so pretty! And this simple design makes it tempting to turn into a stack of pretty notecards. Let’s get into it!

I started by stamping all the flowers and branches onto copy paper a couple of times, then fussy-cut them out. (I’m not worried about how neat the cutting is; these just help me visualize what I want.) Then, I started puzzle-ing the pieces around until they were in a tight rectangle in the center of an A2-sized card panel.

I slid the card panel into my MISTI and placed the stamps over the top of the copy paper blooms. Not all of the stamps fit next to each other in the space, and one of the blooms needed to be masked off. So I knew I would have to stamp the card twice. I intended to fill the spaces between the big blooms with the tiny flowers (so cute), apply die-cut dots, or maybe bling, but I changed my mind as I went. I couldn’t say why. The artistic mind is a mystery. 😁

Once I got the stamps on the stamping platform window all arranged, I realized I could put all sorts of card panels in if I wanted to make multiple cards, so I made a couple.

I heat embossed the blooms with Brutus Monroe’s Gilded. For the white card, I used Simon’s Chunky A2 Scalloped Rectangles. For my teal and coral card, I used a Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper. Oh! And those pretty scarlet clear drops are Pinkfresh, as are the teal inks I used for my ombre background.

I’ve taken a peek at some other makes with this design, and they’re all so pretty; I suggest checking out Simon’s gallery and IG profile page to see more ideas. You’re also encouraged to share/post your own makes with this collection! 😍

I hope some of these design choices have inspired you to make something new today! Thanks so much for stopping by!
