Simon Says Stamp Be Creative Release!

Hi everyone! Welcome to my blog. I answer every comment I receive so if you have any questions, just let me know!

I got a hold of a new Simon Says Stamp sentiment die, as part of their new Be Creative release, and made a couple of cards with it. With a die like “Simply Fabulous,” you can leave it alone on your card, or add secondary sentiments. I did both. Today, though, we’ll just talk about my lilac card.

Also, it’s okay to make your card fabulous with sparkle or color (or a bright orange bow), it’s in the sentiment!

Let’s get to the how-tos!

First I ink blended on a 5X5 piece of white cardstock with Distress Oxide Shaded Lilac and very lightly with Villainous Potion at the bottom, but I wanted the color to mainly be Shaded Lilac fading to white. When that was dry I used Rangers Texture Paste with SSS’s Falling Snow stencil.

(I actually did it twice, the first time I put the paste on, I spread it kind of thin, and when it was dry I put another coat on so that those dots would be white and hopefully the lilac color wouldn’t bleed through.)

When everything was dry, I cut it down to 4 X 4, so that the heavily lilac-shaded edges were cut off and rounded the corners with a Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper, I adhered it down to a slightly larger square base card.

I used the Simply Fabulous die three times on white cardstock and once on silver glitter cardstock, glued the layers together, and adhered them to the shadow layer (die included in the Simply Fabulous die set) of vellum then used foam tape to stick them down to a circle placed in the middle of my card. The small pieces of foam tape do not show from behind the vellum at all.

I die cut some of Simon’s Budding Branches and colored them with Distress Oxides – Evergreen Bough and Pine Needles, leaving a little space near the tips of the leaves to apply some Dried Marigold. I tucked them in around one side of the circle then added my fabulous orange bow!

Thank you so much for coming by!
