Hello and welcome to your next stop on the Pinkfresh Studio March 2022 Washi, Stamp, Die, Stencil, and Hot Foil Release blog hop! I’ve got a colorful card today, I made this one with the gorgeous new gold foiled Fuchsia Washi, die and Nested Diamonds hot foil and Nested Diamonds die. These new nesting dies and hot foil plates are destined to become staples in my craft room!
I decided that what I loved most about the Fuchsia Washi was how the blooms drop and of course the color! So, first things first, I unrolled a section of the washi tape and adhered it to some white cardstock, twice over, so that I would have lots of choices when it came time to arrange them on my card. I die cut all of the pieces out and set them aside.
I pulled out my much loved Argyle stencil and Passion Fruit, Ballet Slipper and Raspberry Bliss inks to blend onto more white cardstock. The Ballet Slipper was just blended here and there over the Passion Fruit diamonds to obscure the lines a bit and help the design to stay more in the background. Raspberry Bliss was used with stencil 2 for the cross hatching. Then I used a rectangle die (from the Folk Edge Rectangles die set) to cut the blended image to 3 3/4 X 5 inches. I put some fun foam on the back and adhered it to an A2 cardbase with a colored cardstock to match the inks used on the argyle background.
For my diamond focal piece (center piece?), I used one of the Diamond hot foil plates in the nested set, with gold foil on more white cardstock (Neenah 110 lb.) After it was foiled I used a Nesting Diamonds die to cut it out. Then I applied Lavender ink around the outside border fading to white in the center, and darkened the edges just a bit more with Regal Kiss. I used the Nested Diamonds die again to cut out a white diamond shape and ended up trimming it down slightly to get a backing piece with a just-the-right size border. The white border piece went straight down onto the card, then the fun foam backed purple diamond was centered over it.
Once I had all of the die cut Fuchsia Washi tape flowers arranged, with foam tape where necessary, I hot foiled the Best Wishes sentiment using a foil color called Fuchsia Flower. I loved that it was yet another shade of pink/purple to add to my colorful card.
I added some metallic gold pearls to echo the polished line of the foiled diamond and was done.
