Pinkfresh Studio Happy Heart/Life Right Now Collections Release Blog Hop

Hi guys! Welcome to your next stop on the Pinkfresh Studio Happy Heart/Life Right Now Collections Release Blog Hop! Pinkfresh Studio has got two new paper collections available, Happy Heart and Life Right Now. Both are lovely and provide a different way to make either dimensional or flat cards with, whatever your preference. One of the things that I appreciate the most about making paper art with a collection like this is that someone else has done the all the heavy lifting and put together a combination of colors, patterns and ephemera that will all work together so that it is easier to design and build a card.

The two projects that I’m sharing with you today were made using the Life Right Now paper pad, Ephemera, Floral Ephemera, Chipboard Flair and some Enamel Dots. There are more fun products available in this collection: Chipboard Frames, Cardstock Stickers, Puffy Stickers and Puffy Alpha Stickers. I just didn’t use them for my two cards.

I do have a bit of a sneak peek of a product that doesn’t release until next week (Monday, March 28), Rainbow Sentiments! A 41-piece pack of colorful pre-printed sentiments, which is not part of the Life Right Now collection.

For the first card I decided to pair up a colorful stripe-y piece of patterned paper, from the 6X6 paper pack, with a circle die and some Chipboard Flair. I trimmed down the 6X6 paper to 3 3/4 X 5 inches, then found a couple of small circle dies and cut some circles out. (Now if I were feeling really energetic I could have saved and used those circles for another card, but I decided to just get on with the card I wanted to make). This die cut piece of patterned paper was fairly lightweight, so I adhered it down to some heavy white cardstock, trimmed the cardstock to line up and used the same circle dies again.

I popped that panel up with fun foam and adhered it down to some light gray cardstock (I’ve been liking Papertrey Ink for colored cardstock lately). While the Ephemera pack has loads of sentiments in it, some fun scene building elements and a few bouquets of flowers, I knew from the beginning that I wanted the (sticky backed) Chipboard Flair to go in the circle spaces and popped them up from the cardbase with foam tape. I chose a sentiment from the soon-to-be-released Rainbow Sentiments pack and finished the card by placing some colorful enamel dots around it.

For my second card I found a piece of paper from the Life Right Now paper pack with a charming pink and yellow pattern on it and thought it was so pretty that I decided to layer scalloped vellum circles and flowers onto it. I used my trimmer to cut the patterned paper in a square shape to just over 4 1/4 inches then adhered it to a piece of colored cardstock, cut to 4 1/2 inches square, so that it had a slim frame.

I used my Pinkfresh Scalloped Circle dies to cut out some pretty lacy circles from white cardstock and vellum. The larger circles were adhered down to the cardbase and the smaller circles were popped up with tiny pieces of foam tape. I ended up doubling the smaller vellum scallop circle to help obscure the pieces of tape.

Then I selected some pretty flower bouquets from the Ephemera and the Floral Ephemera packs, gathered them together and stuck them underneath the interior circle with glue. I used another sentiment from the Rainbow Sentiments pack in the center of the circle and scattered some light and airy Pinkfresh crystals around the card. Then I was done.

I hope some of these design choices have inspired you to make something new today. Thank you so much for coming by.

    Hi, Anne –
I like both of these, but I LOVE the Find Joy one. I agree w/ you… the “heavy lifting” is the coordination of colors, etc. that takes me a good bit of time if I start from scratch. I am so pressed for time all the time these days that any short cut I can use to make the cardmaking process a little easier is what I am going to want and use. I am very impressed w/ what I am seeing…….
    TFS!

  26. Marisela Delgado

Hola, B.M.J.! Ooo, so much gorgeousness! They’re all so beautiful, but the first one is my favorite. ? We were in the clear for storms, but had a hail storm just now. Girl, it got crazy! Wonderful cards. ???

    1. Anne

Hi Mari! I knew it would! Weatherman/youtuber by the name of Ryan Hall Y’all, check him out! I’m glad you’re doing okay, and thank you so much for your kind words!

      1. Marisela Delgado

I don’t think I explained it correctly. The surprise thunderstorm was nothing like what they showed on the national news. It was a run of the mill storm with pea size hail that lasted all of 2 minutes. I said surprise thunderstorm because it was not supposed to rain in San Antonio at all. That’s why we were surprised, but it was nothing scary. The tornadoes and scary storms was no where near us and our meteorologists got it right. Those storms happened hours before our thunderstorm came through; not at the same time. They all pinpointed the storms correctly. What I was talking about was nothing like what was seen on the national news. I meant surprise thunderstorm because it was not supposed to rain in San Antonio.
We all knew about the possibility of tornadoes and scary storms, but they would be E/NE of us, which they were. That’s typical of Texas at Spring time. Believe me, we have gotten scary storms in the past, but our meteorologists always get it right. Hail of any size during a storm has always scared me since I was little. We are hoping for more rain because we are in a drought.
Hope the weather is warmer in Chicago now. We will be 87*F by next week. Geez, we skipped Spring! Hugs!

        1. Anne

Hey Mari! I gotcha, just a little surprise storm. I get the feeling this is going to be an active Spring. Stay safe!

          1. Marisela Delgado

I agree. We get really humid and then a cold front comes in and BOOM! Thanks for your concern. ??? Have a great weekend, B.M.J. Hugs!
