Pinkfresh Studio February 2022 Stamp, Die, Stencil, and Hot Foil Release

Hello! Welcome to your next stop on the Pinkfresh Studio February 2022 Stamp, Die, Stencil, and Hot Foil Release blog hop! I’ve got two cards today so we better get going!

For my first card I started with the new magically pretty Hearts and Stars coverplate with white cardstock (I like to use Neenah 110 lb.). I poked all of the hearts and dots out but left the stars in the cut out. I used a tiny blending brush with Ballet Slipper to blend a small area of light pink around the heart spaces. Then, because I planned ahead which is something I’m not usually very good at, I decided to wrap a band of torn pink vellum around the middle of my die cut piece of paper to build my sentiment on. Then I adhered it down to a light pink cardbase and ended up rounding the corners with a We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

Then I ran the coverplate through my die cutting machine again, on some matte silver specialty paper just so that I could adhere those silver stars onto my background piece so that they were slightly raised.

I used the new Spark of Goodness Floral Frame stamp, stencil set and die for some flowery goodness around my sentiment. The sentiment itself comes from the new gorgeous Chrysanthemum Slimline stamp set. Have you seen that flower?! Beautiful!

Anyway, I die cut out my sentiment using a heart die from the previously released Shaker Hearts die set and popped those flower stems up with foam tape. I tucked a couple of silver branches (from my stash) that were die cut out with the previously released Garden Wreath die set, added some pretty bling, Pinkfresh Jewels, and was done!

For my next project I decided that I had to make something with the lovely Songbirds on Branches suite of products. Such a beautiful design and kind of unique in the Pinkfresh store.

I started with white cardstock, of course, and used Spellbinders Glimmer Polished Brass hot foil from a metallic variety pack. It’s similar to gold but warmer in tone. I hot foiled with the Songbirds hot foil plate, (there is also a stamp of this available if you’d prefer to stamp and/or emboss), then colored it in with the layering stencil set. I laid down Peach Fuzz for the leaves at first, then picked up a tiny brush to ink a little Warm Buff at the base of the leaves but decided that I wanted a slightly more caramel-y look. So to brighten up that brown I used Apricot, very lightly, over the same area I had brushed on the Warm Buff. I used Indian Summer oranges for the blooms, but they ended up being largely covered up anyway.

I used Ocean Breeze, Summer Shower and Seaside for the birds, die cut everything out with the easy to use accompanying die and set it all aside. I used the new Daisy Chain coverplate on more white cardstock and cut out a small-ish rectangle from it with the Folk Edge Rectangles. Then I used the Folk Edge Rectangles again to make a frame for the Daisy Chain piece. Then, for some unknown reason, I spent time placing tiny orange dots on the daisy chain cut out piece. The dots came from a previous, rejected cut out (made with the Hearts and Stars coverplate). It ends up being very subtle and definitely not necessary to the overall design of the card… I just wanted to sit and fuss over it for a bit.

I put foam tape on the back of everything and used the piece of paper that I had cut the songbirds out of to figure out where the branches go on the finished card. I adhered some of the branches down straight to the cardbase. Stuck the daisy chain cut out rectangle in the center, over those branches. Then I placed the branches with the birds, on top of that. Then I finally noticed the time, (guess I sat and fussed for too long!) and had to use a sentiment from my stash. “Sending Hugs” was made with the Perfect Sentiments hot foil plate and Lavender Petal foil. There is also a Perfect Sentiments stamp set available.

I added some beautiful Sparkling Champagne Pearls and was done!

I hope some of these design choices have inspired you to make something new today. Thank you so much for coming by!

-Anne

    Hi,
I love the pink card w/ the Hearts and Stars coverplate. It’s a pastel dream come true. I also adore the Songbirds one. I especially LOVE the color you made the sentiments to go with the amber-colored leaves and the blue birds. I would never have thought of using Lavender Petal foil (I don’t foil) but even to know that combination helps me for ink choices.
Your talent is unreal! TFS –
