Hot Foiling on Patterned Paper

Hi guys! I’m up on the Pinkfresh blog with a card that I made by silver foiling on some charming patterned paper using a few new Pinkfresh releases: Sweet Friend Floral hot plate and die and the Slimline Skinny Plaid stencil, which is fast becoming a favorite of mine. I ended up going with a pink and white and silver theme here, just because I was in the mood for it!

I started by selecting some fairly subtly patterned paper from Pinkfresh’s Keeping It Real collection because I figured that any pattern that was too bold and graphic would make it hard to see the foiled lines. I used the Sweet Friend Floral hot plate to silver foil those sweet whimsical flowers onto the paper, and the accompanying die to cut them out. I decided to go over the flowers, just a little, with some colored pencil to help define them and make them a little easier to see. Not too much though, I didn’t want to cover up the pattern of the paper which I think is super charming.

Then I started to work on inking up the Slimline Skinny Plaid 2-stencil set, using a combination of Ballet SlipperSparkling Rose and a touch of Coral Reef on Neenah white 110lb. cardstock. I didn’t worry about the slimline stencil not being wide enough for an A2 sized card because I then used the Blanket Stitched Oval die to cut out the center piece. Then I placed the die cut piece back into the square that I had stenciled on because I decided to add some of Rangers’ Stickles Asteroid glitter gel to a few random lines of the plaid stencil. Removed the die cut oval again and set it aside to dry.

Next I got to work on the base piece, I decided that I wanted those cool blanket stitched lines of the oval to be on the outside of the oval too, so I used the die on the base and re-inserted the die cut piece (taped from the back and covered up with a thin piece of cardstock). Then I started arranging the flowers using a little bit of foam tape to adhere them to the smaller die cut oval for the center of the card. And used the Celebrating You foil plate and die for the silver sentiment.

I added some pretty silver pearls and was done with my pink and silver card!

I hope that this might inspire you to make something new today. Thank you so much for coming by!
