You Are Enough

Happy Friday crafty co-horts! I’m up on the Pinkfresh blog today with a pretty, lavender wreath card made with their new Reason to Smile Wreath stamp and stencil sets and die. I particularly love the sentiment which is an encouragement that I think everyone appreciates being reminded of occasionally.

I started off stamping the image onto lavender cardstock, just dark enough to see so that I could color in the leaves with my pencils. I got the wreath colored in using 4-5 shades of green pencil and the tips of the leaves with 3 shades of purple and lavender. Then the colored in image went back into the MISTI, where the stamp remained from the initial stamping, and I white heat embossed over the drawing.

I love the shape and flow of those leaves, so very pretty! I loved coloring them in and might have to try it again soon with a different color combination. There is an accompanying layering stencil set if you’ve not the time or interest in coloring.

I die cut out the wreath, using the accompanying die, and attached, to the underside, some vellum die cut Curvy Leaves, which looks to be a new favorite of mine. I used a previously released background die, Diagonal Stitched Plaid, on more lavender cardstock to be the background for my wreath. Then I used another new release, Garden Wreath to die cut some tiny flowers from white and dark purple paper and placed them where I thought they looked nice. I tried to make sure not use too many, I didn’t want to completely cover up the leaves on the wreath.

Before I finished with the flowers, I used one of the stencils from the Reason to Smile Wreath stencil set for the “Believe” word, and white heat embossed it onto some vellum. I pulled the “You are enough” from the Reason to Smile Wreath stamp set and white heat embossed it onto the same dark purple I used for the flowers. The wreath went up on two layers of foam tape, then I glued down the vellum, Believe sentiment with glue being applied just under the letters, and stuck a couple more flowers on top.

A small scatter of Pinkfresh Jewels for a pretty sparkle and the card was done.

I hope that some of my design choices have inspired you to make something new today. Thank you so much for coming by!
