Hi guys! Welcome to the next stop on the Pinkfresh Studio February 2021 Stamp, Stencil and Die Release hop! And oh my goodness there is so much “pretty” going on with this release. Let’s get to it!
For this first card I sat down at my craft table and ink blended the morning away using the Friendship Blooms layering stencil set. I love those ruffled petals! So pretty. When I was done exploring color combinations, (I particularly liked using Pinkfresh’s Storm and Slumber for that blue foliage!) I die cut out the blooms and leaves with the accompanying dies and ended up with a stack of flowers ready to use on future projects.
I decided that I really wanted that defining black line that stamping on an image can bring. So to streamline the process of stamping through my stack of blooms, I made a jig with the dies from another piece of paper. I placed the jig in my MISTI and the stenciled flowers into the die cut out spaces. Then I lined up the stamps, from the beautiful Friendship Blooms stamp set, on top of the images and picked them up with the door of the MISTI.
After I stamped them all I thought it would be fun to stencil on some glitter gel. Glitter is not for everyone but I really love it. I used Rangers Stickles in Moon Dust and Solar Flare.
With so many flowers ready to go, I knew it was going to be hard to narrow down which ones to use and decided to make a slimline card to give me a lot of space.
I kept the background simple and splattered just a little bit of black paint on the white base piece. I used Pinkfresh’s Slim Diagonal Stitched Rectangles to die cut it out and adhered that to Hero Arts pitch black cardstock. The sentiment, from the same stamp set, was stamped directly onto that top piece. I placed a die cut out circle, Diagonal Stitched Circles, around it. Then I started arranging flowers and leaves and either sticking them flat to the paper or using foam tape for a little dimension.
With this next card I used a new die from Pinkfresh called Floral Harmony and it’s so sweet! I knew I wanted to see it on a square card with pastel Easter-y colors.
I used the Floral Harmony die a few times on Neenah white, 110 lb. paper, and pulled out my alcohol markers to color the little flowers and flourishes. I added a little Ballet Slipper to the center of the die cut oval with a blending brush then adhered the stacked, colored pieces on top. Then I decided that it might be fun if I glued some chunky glitter to the border of another die cut oval and sandwich them together.
I used Pinkfresh’s Stitches die on some lavender colored cardstock and cut it to a square before taping it down to a piece of white paper for a border. Then they both went down onto the card base which was blended green with Fresh Pear.
That adorable Thank You die was also stacked with another 3 layers and glued to the top of the oval. It has an accompanying large stamp set called Simply Sentiments: Thank you, with more sentiments and a Thank you stamp that fits the die.
