Pinkfresh Studio December 2020 Stencil and Die Release Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to your next stop on the Pinkfresh Studio December 2020 Stencil and Die Release Blog Hop! Be sure to read to the end and leave a comment for the chance to win a $25 gift card!

I’ve got 4 projects made with two new stencil sets so let’s get started. We’ll start with a brightly colored Christmas/New Years card, this one was made with the new Mirrored Triangles (single) stencil. I’m loving the geometric design!

I cut some white card stock to 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 . Then I lined up the corner marks that are etched on the stencil (to line up perfectly with the A2 size) with my card panel and stuck it down.

I used greens from Pinkfresh’s the Over the Hills family: Fresh Pear, Grassy Knoll, Key Lime and Olive. They were each blended onto three spaces a piece. Then I used colors from the Fairy Dust collection: Ballet Slipper, Sparkling Rose, Bubble Gum and Raspberry Bliss. They also were blended into three spaces each, then all the spaces were colored. I did find it easier to keep the colors separate with some scraps of paper and washi tape for masking.

I peeled up the stencil, spun it around and stuck it down again so that the inked in spaces were masked. I filled in the open spaces with Stickles Glitter Gel: Solar Flare and Asteroid. The gold went with the green colors and the silver went with the pink. I just used my finger tips to smoosh it where I wanted it, using a palette knife left it kind of thick and it’s less pretty if it’s too dense.

I trimmed a tiny bit off the sides and used fun foam to adhere it to black card stock (Hero Arts pitch black is awesome). And I used Pinkfresh’s Classic Holiday Words for the sentiment. No extra bling was necessary!

Cards 2 through 4 were all pretty similarly made, I just switched up the colors, the sentiments and trim along the length of the card.

These cards were all made with Pinkfresh’s new gorgeous Seamless Floral Pattern layered stencil set. If you get your panels all laid out ahead of time and gather your inks together, it’s pretty fun to experiment with colors and make a lot of these!

The colors I used for this first one were: Soft Lilac, Lavender, Misty Coast, Rocky Slope, Metropolis, Licorice, Fresh Pear, Sky Blue and Slumber. When the colors were all down I used one of the two stencils from the new Argyle set with glitter gel for a subtle glimmery criss cross over the whole panel.

I used the Stitched Scallop Rectangles on the edges of the panel because I think the scallop design is so sweet and went well with all the white and the soft colors of the flowers. The sentiment is from the Floral Notes stamp set.

The colors for this next were: Peach Fuzz, Apricot, Clementine, Candy Violet, Slumber and Emerald City. I used the Slim Stripes dies with vellum and weaved them to make a sort focal point for the sentiment which is also from the Floral Notes stamp set.

The colors for my minty card are: Mint, Ballet Slipper, Passion Fruit and for the burgundy colored larger flowers it was a combination of Regal Kiss and Berrylicious. I used a little more of the Stickles Moon Dust glitter gel that I love and Nuvo Glacier Paste in Sea Sprite which matched Pinkfresh Studio’s minty shade perfectly.

I laid down a couple of the slim stripes along the edges of the card and the sentiment is black heat embossed on vellum, from Pinkfresh’s You Are My Favorite stamp set. And even though there was already plenty of glitter on the card I had to add a few Crystals. Done!

I hope some of my design choices have inspired you to make something new today. Thanks so much for coming by!
