Stamped Stripes, Glitter Gel and Layered Stickers

Hi guys! I picked up some free w/purchase Maggie Holmes stickers from Scrapbook.com and layered them onto some fun summer-y cards I made using Pinkfresh Studio’s Pop out: Diagonal stamp set and some oxide inks.

I’m not gonna lie, the stickers were a bit of a challenge for me, I don’t have much experience using stickers on my cards but these were so fun and charming and full of Summer goodness that I had to play with them.

I made the top panel first using the diagonal stripe stamp and some Distress oxide inks, just pulling some colors from the stickers: Blueprint Sketch, Speckled Egg, Spun Sugar and Twisted Citron. I stamped on a couple of pieces of 3 1/2 X 3 1/2 square 80 lb. white cardstock with the bottom portion taped off, then rounded the corners. I added some Rangers Stickles Moondust glitter gel on the stripes using a ruler and a q-tip. I wasn’t really worried about being clean and precise, I liked it a little clunky in some places and thin in others, I thought it helped them to looked pretty and summer-y like sunshine on water.

I used some painters tape again to tape off a section of the base layer, 4 X 4 square 120 lb. cardstock , and picked a couple of colors and an ink blending brush to fade out some ink on the lower part of the backing panel.

When those pieces were done and adhered together I just started layering the stickers, using foam tape to add dimension. I added a few small flowers here and there to fill in some spaces. Then I was done.

I hope that this inspires you to make something new today! Thanks for coming by!
