Flower March / Watercolor with Oxide Inks

Just another example of if the image is cute enough, you needn’t be a professional grade colorist to get a charming card.

I decided to paint the stamped and heat embossed image: Bundle Girl Flower March (Stamping Bella), with Distress Oxide inks because I wanted to put my pencils away for awhile. The painting process actually went pretty quick, deciding on where and how to stamp the sentiment took way longer. Weird how these things go. I even practiced different colors and techniques on scrap paper, but when it came time to stamp on the front panel, it smooshed and bled everywhere!… had to cover it up with the heart die cut. The “Be” sentiments stamp set from Simon Says Stamp was perfect for this image, so many good choices there.

The background was made with Squeezed Lemonade and Wild Honey distress oxide inks and a Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous layering stencil, gingham.

I love her red boots! And at the end decided to include a few clear sequins and sparkly stars just to add a little “magic” to the image. This girl has sass and magic and I want to be her when I grow up!

Please feel free to ask if you have any questions. I hope that this inspires you to make something new today. Thanks so much for stopping by!
